Venezianico Redentore Bronze: A Unique Luxury Timepiece

I have looked at many Venezianico watches before. I thought I had said all about this brand. I got two cool models, the Nereide Lapis Lazuli & the rare Nereide Aquaforte, but I did not write more. Yet, the new Redentore Bronze watch made me speak up once more.

The Redentore Bronze caught my eye first with its bronze case, which I like a lot. But, it was not just the case that drew me in; it was the top-notch dial. Venezianico is known as a small brand that does well in making great, high-end dials, & this one was the same. When I got the first pics & a talk on how the dial was made from Alessandro, I knew I had to show this watch.

The watch got here a week ahead of its due day on March 14. When I first opened it, I saw Venezianico had changed their box design. The new box, with bronze-like hints & cream-hued insides, looked made just for this one. Maybe for all bronze ones. My first feel when I saw the watch was not clear.

The case looks more gold than bronze, which feels too strong to me. I think when the bronze gets old, it will look a bit darker in a good way. It is key to note that the true watch pics shown don’t match real life. They show it as darker than it is. My own pics show that gap well.

A shock came from the watch’s size look. Even though it’s the norm Redentore 40mm, it looked big, like a 43mm watch. To be clear, the watch is in fact 40mm. It goes up to 42mm with the crown guard.

The dial is the real art piece. Alessandro told us how it’s made: “The dial is quite hard. It starts as brass. It gets a sun-like shine, then a dark shine, & then we polish it a lot. This takes off the ruthenium to show the base stuff, making a cool look.” Each dial looks one of a kind.

Venezianico made a smart move. They kept the face of the watch clean. No index marks or too much text. Just a small logo. They left out a date mark. This choice keeps the look simple.

The face of the watch stands out. But other parts need a nod too. Venezianico chose the Miyota 9039 piece. This is not the same as the Seiko NH3x parts in the Redentore line. They use it in the new Arsenale model & some mid-range Nereide ones too. I did not check how right the time was this time.

The watch is thin at 10mm, with a sapphire top. It has a rich leather band & a bronze pin. The back, made of steel, shows a horse mark from St. Mark’s place. It fits the bronze look. The bronze knob has the Venezianico mark on it.

The hands are the same color as the case. There is no glow. This may be good or bad. It depends on what you like. The watch can deal with water up to 50m. Yet, it is not made for water fun.

On my wrist, the watch looks big. It’s 40mm wide & 47mm from lug to lug. It fits well on my 19cm wrist. Yet, the big, clear dial makes it seem more vast.

With its specs – a bronze case, cool dial, & Miyota 9xxx move – this watch has the top price in the Redentore set, at €750. It has a cost like the Nereide types with the same move. The price is high, for sure. Yet, I think this watch will draw folks in & all 300 rare parts will go fast. All who buy it should be quite glad with their pick.
